Black walnut is a hardwood tree native to eastern North America. While the nutmeats of its fruit are commonly added to salads and baked goods, the crushed hulls are used to make tinctures and infusions. The large, fragrant leaves of the tree are used in tea blends.
Black Walnut Hull Powder, 1/4lb
The powdered hulls of black walnuts, which have a high tannin content, are made into tinctures and topical preparations. Because the hulls are also high in iodine, the powdered form is used as a supplement in regions where sea vegetables are in short supply.
